瑪麗亞凱莉繼2005年狂賣專輯「The Emancipation of Mimi/天后再臨」之後的第11張錄音室專輯「E=MC²」。 

讓歌迷等待三年，天后瑪麗亞凱莉 (Mariah Carey) 終於宣佈在四月中發行她的第 11 張個人大碟，專輯名稱也從最早的「 Sweet Soul Odyssey 」、「 That Chick 」等...，正式定案為【E=MC²】，靈感正是來自於愛因斯坦最著名的相對論，同時也巧妙結合她名字的英文縮寫。



預計在4月15日發行的「E=MC²」專輯，收錄了即興的嘻哈樂曲像是和Young Jeezy合作的「Side Effects」，動聽且朗朗上口的狄斯可舞曲「That Chick」。這張專輯也收錄兩首巨肺情歌(其中「Bye Bye」是一首以鋼琴襯底，描寫失去親人的抒情曲)。其他參與製作的大牌音樂人更是不勝枚舉，如Jermaine Dupri, Will.i.am 以及Scott Storch等。



值得注意的部分是瑪麗亞收起了過份強調聲音技巧的炫技，改以更輕描淡寫的方式詮釋首支主打「Touch My Body」在內的數首歌曲。這首略帶性趣的小情歌講的是情人間的「秘密約會」，由瑪麗亞與Tricky Stewart 和The-Dream(蕾哈娜「Umbrella」幕後班底)共同創作。



製作「Migrate」(T-Pain助唱) 的Nate "Danja" Hills告訴我們：「瑪麗亞在這首歌的結尾放開來唱出不同的音域，這和他的唱片很不同。漂亮的中音域讓我們見識到瑪麗亞凱莉的實力。她在房間裡配唱，而我徹底被征服了，為何她唱得如此之好卻又神態自若。實在太驚人了。我終於知道她真的是名副其實的唱將。」
